BMW Motorrad’s KTM Duke 390 Rival Is Finally Coming To India

BMW Motorrad showcased the G 310 R at the 2016 Auto Expo, and after two years the motorcycle will finally hit the Indian roads. The German company has partnered with TVS to manufacture the G 310 R in India for exporting it to foreign markets.

BMW Motorrad is looking to capture the entry-level premium motorcycle segment in India which is currently dominated by the likes of KTM and Bajaj Auto. The G 310 R is expected to be priced aggressively, as it is locally manufactured in India.

TVS Apache RR 310 Launched In India - DriveSpark

Along with the G 310 R, BMW Motorrad will also introduce the adventure tourer sibling of the naked motorcycle christened as G 310 GS. We expect both the motorcycles to be launched simultaneously in the Indian market.

The BMW G 310 R draws power from a 313cc single cylinder engine producing 33.5bhp and 28Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The same engine is deployed in the recently launched TVS Apache RR 310, the first fully faired motorcycle from TVS developed in partnership with BMW Motorrad.

The BMW G 310 R is also equipped with chunky upside down forks at the front and monoshock suspension setup at the rear. The naked motorcycle also features a fully digital instrument cluster and disc brakes at both the ends with ABS as standard. The build quality of the motorcycle will be top-notch as per BMW standards.

BMW Motorrad will finally launch the G 310 R, the entry-level naked motorcycle in the Indian market in the second half of 2018. It will be the most affordable offering from the German motorcycle maker. When launched in India, the G 310 R will lock horns with the likes of KTM Duke 390, Benelli TNT 300, Kawasaki Z250 and Bajaj Dominar 400.
