Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Benelli is testing a scooter in India. TeamBHP has spotted the Zafferano 250 being tested in Pune.
The Zafferano 250 is a 250cc scooter. Currently, Benelli retails the Zafferano 250 in Indonesia with a price tag of Rp 45.550.000 (approximately Rs 2.18 lakh).
Now, Benelli is testing the scooter on the Indian roads. DSK Benelli had already revealed that there are more launches scheduled this year. So, Benelli might be planning to launch the scooter in the Indian market or testing it for exporting to other markets.
The Zafferano 250 draws power from a 249.7cc single cylinder, fuel injected, liquid cooled engine producing 20.7bhp and 20.83Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled to an automatic gearbox.
Braking duties are handled by dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear. The scooter has a kerb weight of 155kg, and the fuel tank capacity stands at 12-litres. The scooter features dual headlamp setup, windscreen, a combination of the analog and digital instrument cluster and sleek tail lamp.
DSK Benelli has already hinted on the new products to be launched in India. But the company is tight-lipped about the new scooter. The Zafferano 250 might be launched in India, or there is also a possibility of testing it to export to foreign markets. Currently there are no rivals for the 250cc scooter in India.
