Benelli Tornado 302 India Launch Delayed — Find Out Why
Once launched, the Benelli Tornado 302 will compete against the likes of Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Benelli has delayed the launch of its much-awaited 300cc motorcycle - the Tornado 302, which was expected to hit the Indian showroom floors in January 2017. The latest update on the internet is that the launch of the Benelli Tornado 302 has been rescheduled to a later date.

According to a report by Bikewale, the Tornado 302, the fully-faired sportbike from the Italian manufacturer is now being upgraded to meet the BSIV emission norms and is expected to be launched in India by April this year.

Built around a trestle frame, the Tornado 302 draws power from a parallel-twin cylinder motor that generates 36bhp of power at 12,000rpm and 27Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The transmission duties are carried out by a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of dimensions, the Benelli Tornado 302 measures 2,175mm in length, 1,145mm in height, 746mm in width, and tips the scales at 180kg. The fully-faired motorcycle can reportedly achieve a top speed of over 170km/h.

Up front, the motorcycle is equipped with 41mm upside down forks (USD) and mono suspension at the rear. The fuel tank capacity is 14 litres. The stopping power comes from two 260mm floating discs with a four-piston caliper at the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear. It is expected to offer ABS as an option.

Once launched, the Benelli Tornado 302 will compete against the likes of Yamaha YZF-R3, KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. The price of this new motorcycle is expected to be around Rs 3.2 lakh ex-showroom.
