Bajaj And Kawasaki Officially End Partnership

Bajaj Auto's Probiking showrooms have been selling and servicing the Kawasaki's Completely Knocked Down (CKD) motorcycles such as Ninja 300, Z250, Ninja 650 and ER-6N. IKM has its dealership network for their CBU models.

Bajaj Auto has officially announced that the partnership with Kawasaki will come to an end from April 1, 2017. So, after April 1, the Probiking showrooms will only deal with the KTM motorcycles.

Although, the company has not given any specific reason for the break in partnership. But it looks like Bajaj wants to concentrate on KTM as it holds 48 percent stake in the Austrian company.

Effective from April 1, 2017, sales and service of Kawasaki motorcycles, even for motorcycles sold through Probiking showrooms will be handled by IKM dealerships. This development will not impact the two companies various other ventures across the world.

Kawasaki will also continue to use Bajaj's Chakan plant to assemble their motorcycles and to conduct other operations. With the break in the alliance, Kawasaki motorcycles are expected to be more affordable as the company will not share its profits with Bajaj.
