Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto took the motorcycle market by storm when it launched the Dominar 400 in the country. Now, the company is set to launch another game changing product.
Gaadiwaadi reports that Bajaj Auto has trademarked the Adventure moniker. The adventure motorcycle will be based on the Dominar 400 platform and also included technical bits from the upcoming KTM adventure motorcycle.
Previously, it was reported that Dominar would spawn different products such as scrambler, tourer and adventure motorcycle. And now Bajaj has opted to go with the adventure segment.
The adventure touring segment is gaining popularity in the country. And currently only Royal Enfield Himalayan serves the purpose. BMW Motorrad and KTM are also planning to introduce their weaponry in this segment.
The adventure motorcycle from Bajaj could hit the roads following the launch of KTM 390 Adventure in 2018 or 2019. It is likely to be a much more tamed machine than the KTM as the Dominar 400.
The Bajaj Adventure is expected to feature long-travel suspension, off-road tyres, brakes and other mechanical bits from the KTM. And the company might use the same 373cc motor on the upcoming motorcycle.
Bajaj Auto is planning to target the Himalayan territory in the Indian market. With Bajaj, we can expect a value for money adventure motorcycle, making the segment reachable for masses.
