Valentino Rossi wore a special helmet in the last weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello circuit. Aldo Drudi designed the AGV Pista GP R helmet.
The special Mugello helmet pays tribute to Nicky Hayden and Francesco Totti. To pay homage to the American rider Hayden, Rossi's number 46 is morphed into the colour and shape of Hayden's number 69.

The top of the Rossi's special Mugello helmet features a soccer pitch where Rossi is wearing his national team's blue jersey. The design also reads "Mo' je faccio er cucchiaio", which means "I made it spoon".

The helmet design also pays tribute to the football player Francesco Totti. He played his last match for A.S. Roma last week. The back of the helmet reads, "Un capitano...C'è solo un capitano!". Which means "One captain... There's only one captain!".

The statement mentioned above is a famous chant for the football player. The helmet also features soccer playing Rossi wearing a bandage. The bandage depicts the recent motocross crash he suffered in the moto ranch.

The designer of the helmet Aldo Drudi said, "We work as a team and I also consider Valentino to be a member of our team, as he listens to all our suggestions with curiosity, adding each idea into the design and ‘developing it.'"

Drudi added, "Here at AGV, we put all our passion into our work, and our task is to create a unique design that will provide a psychological boost, because the helmet is the face the driver wears during the weekend."
