Yamaha Opens Online Reservations For 2018 YZF R1M
Yamaha's online reservation system for the 2018 YZF R1M is now open for private riders and race teams.
Yamaha's online reservation system for the limited run 2018 YZF R1M racer is now open for private riders and race teams.
Yamaha had revealed the 2018 YZF R1M at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan earlier this month alongside the rest of its new lineup including the new R3.
Amateur racers & private racing teams looking to get as close as possible to the bikes that were used by Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales can head over to the Yamaha Europe website.
For the 2018 model year, Yamaha gave the R1M a host of new updates including a new quick shift system that now allows for both upshifts and downshifts without engaging the clutch thanks to rev-matching. Both the new downshifting auto blipper and the existing clutchless upshifting system can be turned on or off by the rider.
The 2018 Yamaha YZF R1M also gets Latest state-of-the-art Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) which adapts automatically and seamlessly to track conditions. This is done by instantly analysing data from the bike's 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), and constantly and seamlessly making fine adjustments to the fork and shock settings on the go.
Yamaha also updated the wheelie control system which features a more progressive mapping setup that modulates power delivery when it detects the front wheel trying to lift off the ground during acceleration. Speaking of wheels, the alloys are wrapped up with Bridgestone's RS10 tyres that apparently offer improved feedback.
