Yamaha Saluto & Saluto RX Models To Be Exported To West Africa
Yamaha Motors India exports several of its two-wheelers to various countries. Now for 2017, the Japanese-based manufacturer plans on exporting to more countries from the Indian market. The Saluto and Saluto RX models from Yamaha will now be exported to West Africa.
This will be the very first time that Yamaha Motors India will be exporting the Saluto and Saluto RX models. Both motorcycles are manufactured from Yamaha's manufacturing unit in Chennai. Currently, Yamaha India exports the Crux model to African markets.
Saluto is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The engine produces 8.18bhp, along with 10.1Nm of peak torque output. Yamaha Saluto RX is powered by an 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine develops 7.38bhp and 8.5Nm of torque.
African markets prefer commuter motorcycles over high-end superbikes. Even the Yamaha Crux that has been discontinued in India sells well in the African markets. Yamaha Motors India exported over 1.54 lakh two-wheelers during the fiscal year 2015-2016.
