Yamaha MT-09 India Deliveries To Begin By May 2016
Yamaha Motors India launched the MT-09 naked street fighter at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The MT-09 is priced attractively at Rs. 10.20 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Now the Japanese-based manufacturer confirms that deliveries will commence from May 2016 across India.
The MT-09 street fighter from Yamaha is imported to India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Almost every superbike model sold in India by Yamaha follows similar route. Currently, Yamaha India offers the V-Max, YZF-R1M, YZF-R1, and MT-09 models within the superbike category.
Powering the MT-09 by Yamaha is an 847cc inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine produces 113bhp, along with 87.5Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Yamaha's MT-09 motorcycle sports a three into one exhaust system.
The Japanese-based superbike maker has equipped the MT-09 with several safety features. ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and TCS (Traction Control System) with riding modes is standard feature. Yamaha has focussed on making the rider have complete control at all times.
In India, Yamaha's MT-09 will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Z800 and Triumph Street Triple models. All three bikes are unique and offer something special in their very own way. Yamaha offers the MT-09 in only two colour options called Matt Grey and Race Blue.
