Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR Could Be Launched By April-End
Yamaha Motors India has showcased several new and exciting products at the 2016 Auto expo in Delhi. Recently, the Japanese-based manufacturer launched its all-new commuter motorcycle in the form of the Saluto RX. We believe that the Cygnus Ray-ZR will be launching next in India.
Cygnus Ray-ZR is most likely to be launched in the Indian market sometime during April-end. Yamaha India recently discontinued its Ray scooter from its official website. Currently, the manufacturer offers only the Ray-Z, Alpha, and Fascino scooter models in India.
Powering the Cygnus Ray-ZR is an 113cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The engine develops 7bhp, along with 8Nm of torque and is mated to CVT gearbox. Yamaha will be providing the scooter optional disc brake for the front tyre.
The Cygnus Ray-ZR by Yamaha is based on their regular Ray-ZR scooter. Mechanically there will not be many changes and the main focus will be an all-new design. Yamaha designers have opted for a sharper and aggressive look over its predecessor.
Once launched the Cygnus Ray-ZR will compete against the likes of Honda Dio and Hero MotoCorp. Maestro Edge, and TVS Jupiter scooters. Yamaha India will surely be asking more for its all-new Cygnus Ray-ZR, we expect it to be priced by Rs 3,500 more than the Ray-Z.
