Yamaha To Unveil 2016 MotoGP Bike On Jan 18 In Barcelona

Movistar Yamaha has confirmed that their all-new 2016 MotoGP machinery will be revealed on January 18, 2016. A special event is being organised by the Japanese manufacturer in Barcelona.

Both, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo will be present at the unveiling of the new YZR-M1. It is most likely to bear the same livery with a few minor changes. The most prominent colour on 2016 YZR-M1 will be striking blue.

Title sponsor of the 2016 MotoGP Championship for Yamaha will be Movistar mobile phone operator. Several new sponsors could also be added to the motorcycles livery like Abarth, Monster Energy, Alpinestars, Yamalube, Akrapovic, Eurasian Bank, and several others.

First official test for 2016 is set to commence by January-end and the updated YZR-M1 will be showcased then. Rossi and Lorenzo will be working hard at setting up their bikes with the new Michelin tyres and unified ECU system.

So far, the duo did not have a good outing at the last test session in Valencia. Rossi and Lorenzo will focus on setting their bike for a strong start to their Championship campaign. Stay tuned for updates from the reveal as well a the first pre-season testing of 2016.
