Valentino Rossi Planning MotoGP Career Till 2018 Championship
Valentino Rossi currently rides for Movistar Yamaha and his current contract comes to an end with the 2016 Championship. MotoGP is synonymous with Valentino Rossi and vice versa. Like every good thing, it has to come to an end at some point.
Rossi is committed to racing and has shown his passion for winning one more MotoGP Championship. Now the multiple MotoGP champion has made his intention clear that if possible he would extend his contract for another two years.
The 2016 season will have interesting on-track as well as off-track action. Almost every top team rider's contract will be coming to an end with the 2016 championship. Yamaha will like to retain both Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi for the future.
We expect most riders to make their decision post the sixth to seventh race. Teams adapting to the new Michelin tyre and the unified ECU system could be vital in most riders choice. So far, both Yamaha and Honda seem to be strong, however, Ducati is not far off in terms of pace.
Most riders could announce their decision earlier as well so that the procedure does not affect their riding performance. We do not expect any dramatic changes among the top riders or teams. Valentino Rossi could surprise us by calling an end to his career if he does wish to continue.
