Triumph Motorcycles Moving Out Of Karnataka
Triumph Motorcycles India had plans of setting up a manufacturing facility near Kolar, Karnataka. Now, thanks to the non-cooperative state government, Triumph has decided to pull out of Karnataka.
The British motorcycle manufacturer has decided to move its plans to manesar, Haryana.
Triumph had plans to invest Rs. 850 crores in Karnataka in two phases. The investment and setting up of a new plant would have created job opportunities as well, but the state government has not been supportive at all.
Triumph was to set up its factory in a 30-acre plot in Narasapura. The plant was to have a production capacity of 2,50,000 units per annum.
Triumph had also paid an advance to the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board. The project received clearance in 2012, but Triumph has been having issues to get it moving because of the state government.
Triumph Motorcycles has hence decided to move to Manesar, and has also asked for a refund.
