Scoop! Piaggio To Launch The Vespa GTS 300 in India
The Italian Scooter manufacturer, Vespa is planning to introduce the new Vespa GTS 300 in India.
Piaggio first showcased the GTS 300 at the 2014 Auto expo. According to the report, Piaggio is yet to take a final decision about the launch of the new Vespa.
Once launched, the Vespa GTS 300 might be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
The GTS 300 is expected to become the most powerful and expensive scooter offering of Vespa in India.
The scooter will be powered by a 278cc, single-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing the maximum power of 21bhp and a peak torque of 22.3Nm.
The new scooter will also sport features such as a digital-analogue combined instrument console, and a traction control and two-channel ABS system.
Currently, the Vespa's Indian line-up includes five models. The GTS 300 will be the sixth model and expected to be launched by the end of this year.
