Suzuki Inazuma 250 Recalled For Issue With Wiring Harness
The GW250/ Inazuma 250 motorcycle is being recalled in United States of America and Australia. Suzuki admits there could be a fault in the wiring harness of their GW250/ Inazuma 250.
Suzuki Motorcycles has initiated a recall of their GW250/Inazuma 250 model. The Japanese manufacturer admits there seems to be an issue with the wiring harness. So far, only the GW250/Inazuma 250 model sold in United States of America and Australia are being recalled.
The waterproof coupler for the brake switch harness and main harness have a fault. Over a period of time water could settle on these connectors, thus leading to rusting. There is also a possibility that a short circuit could take place or even failure of the tail lamp and headlamp.
GW250/Inazuma 250 models sold in the United States of America between 2013 and 2015 are affected by the recall. Approximately 1,890 units are being recalled by Suzuki. The number of motorcycles affected by the recall in Australia has still not been revealed.
All Suzuki GW250/Inazuma 250 motorcycles will be inspected. The issue will be rectified free of cost and should not take too long. Suzuki has already started contacting GW250/Inazuma 250 personally to resolve the issue with the wiring harness.
Currently, Suzuki Motorcycle India has not confirmed if the Inazuma 250 sold in India bears a similar issue. The Inazuma 250 by Suzuki was not a popular model and did not sell in high volumes. If there needs to be a rectification with the harness, it should be a quick fix.
