Suzuki Gixxer & Gixxer SF To Get Fuel Injection Soon In India
Suzuki Motorcycles India recently launched the Gixxer and Gixxer SF models with optional rear disc brake setup. There was high expectations that Suzuki would also offer fuel injection on both models. Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is most likely to introduce fuel injection very soon.
The Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF models have boosted sales for the manufacturer in India. Both models have turned around overall sales figures for Suzuki in the country. Suzuki Motorcycles were not popular in the Indian market and were facing tough times.
Currently, both the Gixxer and Gixxer SF models are powered by a common engine. Suzuki offers the motorcycles with a 154.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The engine produces 14.60bhp, along with 14Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Gixxer and Gixxer SF by Suzuki competes with the likes of Yamaha FZ-S and Fazer models. Yamaha Motors India currently offers both models with fuel injection systems. With the introduction of fuel injected engines, Suzuki will add more value to their existing models.
Expect the fuel injected Suzuki engines to cost slightly more than the existing models. We believe that Suzuki Motorcycles could introduce both the Gixxer and Gixxer SF with fuel injected system by 2016-end. Stay tuned for more updates and launches from Suzuki in India.
