2016 Oilibya Rally Morocco — TVS Sherco’s Aravind KP Qualifies For Dakar 2017
The 2016 Oilibya Rally Morocco has concluded, and TVS Sherco's Indian rider Aravind KP has qualified to compete in next years Dakar Rally.
The fifth stage of the rally, Erg Chebbi ran for 210km with riders completing a total of 1885km including liaison.
Riding the RTR 450 rally motorcycle Aravind finished the rally in 26th position overall about four hours behind the rally winner Toby Price.
At the Rally of Morocco Aravind finished in the 17th position in 450cc class and 19th position in the FIM ranking for bikes and quads.
Speaking after the rally Aravind said, "I am thrilled to complete this rally. Every stage was quite challenging, physically and mentally but I managed to use all the training experience especially while navigating to stay in the race."
He added, "Also the Sherco-TVS engineers ensured my motorcycle didn't face any major issues. This rally was a fantastic learning ground and now Dakar is next."
