Nicky Hayden To Adorn Repsol Honda Outfit Once More At Australian GP
Dani Pedrosa has been operated due to an injury sustained to his collarbone at the Japanese GP. Now, Nicky Hayden is all set to replace Pedrosa at the 2016 Australian GP. This will be Hayden's second appearance in MotoGP 2016 Championship.
Previously, Nicky Hayden was called up by Honda to replace the injured Jack Miller. Hayden then rode a satellite Honda which is being used by Marc VDS Racing Team. Nicky Hayden's palms will surely be itching to get back onto a factory powered Honda RC213V machine.
Nicky Hayden was last seen aboard Factory Honda back in 2008. He then briefly joined Ducati and witnessed no success with the Italian outfit. On returning to Honda he was provided satellite machinery and was asked to prove his worth for the manufacturer.
Injury sustained by Dani Pedrosa ensure that the Spaniard will not take part in the Australian and Malaysian GP. As of now, it is unclear if Nicky Hayden will ride at both tracks or only at Phillip Island. It would be great to see how Hayden performs with two full race weekends at his disposal.
At the Japanese GP, Dani Pedrosa was replaced by Hiroshi Aoyama, Honda's MotoGP test rider. Repsol Honda perhaps wants Nicky Hayden because of his personality and connect with MotoGP fans. Nicky Hayden has been successful and competitive in Australia and Honda is always trying to put their best riders on track for maximum points.
