Marc VDS Confirms The ‘Kentucky Kid’ As Jack Miller's Replacement For Aragon
Recently, rumours suggested that Nicky Hayden was making a comeback to MotoGP. It is now confirmed by Marc VDS Racing Team, that Nicky Hayden will ride for them. Hayden would be replacing the injured Jack Miller only for the 2016 Aragon GP.
Nicky Hayden will get his chance to ride the Honda RC213V once again. He will ride alongside MotoGP rookie, Tito Rabat at Marc VDS Racing team. The 'Kentucky Kid' currently competes in the 2016 WSBK Championship with the Ten Kate Honda Team.
Hayden has been competitive in the WSBK Championship and has over twelve years of racing in the premier class. The 'Kentucky Kid' won his sole MotoGP Championship with Repsol Honda in 2006. Nicky Hayden was fighting for the 2006 MotoGP title with Valentino Rossi and won by the smallest margin.
This would also be a good way to assess Nicky Hayden and how fast he can adapt to Michelin tyres. The 2016 Honda Factory bike is deemed unrideable by most top-level MotoGP riders. Honda specifically built the 2016 RC213V around Marc Marquez, thus, disregarding others.
It would be really interesting if Nicky Hayden could provide Marc VDS Racing with another podium finish. Jack Miller recently took top honours at Assen where tricky conditions favoured the brave. Hayden has confirmed this is a temporary deal and he is not planning on making a full comeback to MotoGP.
