Casey Stoner had expressed his desire to fill in the shoes of Dani Pedrosa during 2015 for a few races. Unfortunately, the Australian-born double MotoGP Champion was refused. Stoner feels that he was denied to race as Marquez felt threatened by Stoners presence in the paddock.

Shuhei Nakamoto, the HRC Vice President is close to both Stoner and Marquez. The team revolve around the number one rider during the season and Stoner is sure that Nakamoto was pressurised by Marquez's crew. Stoner explains that he was present to help Marquez and not challenge him.

Stoner is known for his pace and though he quit MotoGP after the 2012 season, he displayed testing pace similar to the race pace set by the winner. Marquez had a disastrous year in 2015, competing against Valentino Rossi adding Stoner to the equation could clearly crush him.

Ducati has signed Casey Stoner as their brand ambassador and test rider. Stoner is confirmed to participate in several MotoGP tests during 2016. The Australian will also be part of World Ducati Week, which will be held between July 1 to 3, 2016. It will be interesting to see how Casey Stoner adapts to the new Ducati and further improves it.
