Lorenzo & Factory Ducati Team Deal Getting Realistic Day By Day
Reigning MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo was offered a contract by Movistar Yamaha, however, he has not decided his future so far. The rumour mill is going crazy and various speculations have been formed.
The Factory Ducati team is keen on signing a MotoGP World Champion with them. In the current market, there is only Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez, who have not confirmed their future. Several riders will be out of contract by the end of the 2016 MotoGP Championship.
Giacomo Agostini, MotoGP Legend recently confirmed that Ducati has indeed made an offer to Lorenzo. Ducati and Jorge Lorenzo are most likely to make an announcement, once the European rounds commence. Both Lorenzo and Ducati are keeping everything a secret till the very end.
Luigi Dall'Igna is the General Manager of Ducati Corse and is extremely close to Jorge Lorenzo. The duo could come together for a couple of years. Lorenzo has always raced in MotoGP with Yamaha and would like to be successful where Valentino Rossi failed.
Casey Stoner was the last rider to win for Ducati cleanly in MotoGP. The Ducati did not suit Valentino Rossi and his riding style, which proved to be a fruitless endeavour. So far, both Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso have not managed to pick up a win.
