KTM’s MotoGP Machine R16 Tested In Misano With New Upgrades
KTM tested the R16, the Austrian firms newest MotoGP weapon in Misano, Italy, with a new frame and fairing. This was KTM's tenth test with the new R16.
KTM plotted this test with Karel Abraham, Hofmann and Mika Kallio. All getting their chance to test from Monday to Wednesday. Abraham got a last minute call, as Thomas Luthi was sidelined by a crash in Moto2, at Brno.
Riders were quite happy with the bikes performance. They said that, with the new upgrades, it feels like a whole new bike, and it also had improved the handling and performance. KTM is all set to debut its MotoGP machine, in the final round of the season in Valencia, with Mika Kallio.
Putting light on the technical side, Technical Director, Sebastian Risse, said, "When it came to the bike, almost everything was new here, starting with the frame and the complete fairing, including the aerodynamics, right up to the ergonomics and the vehicle packaging."
"All of the biggest components showed their potential, and we're very happy about this. Now we have to put it all together and check it also at another circuit."
