Kawasaki W800 Modern Classic, India Launch By Early 2017
The W800 modern classic motorcycle by Kawasaki is most likely to launch in India by early 2017. Kawasaki is most likely to offer its W800 model as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) model.
Kawasaki plans on introducing several of its new motorcycles in the Indian market. Now, the Japanese-based two-wheeler manufacturer could bring an all-new model to Indian shores. The W800 by Kawasaki is a modern classic motorcycle, which is likely to be launched by early 2017 in the country.
As of now, select Kawasaki India dealerships already have the W800 model on display. The modern classic segment has gained popularity in India as well as in the international market. If Kawasaki can price the W800 competitively, it has the potential to disrupt competitors in India.
Powering the Kawasaki W800 is a 773cc Vertical Twin, air-cooled engine. This engine produces 46.4bhp, along with 60Nm of peak torque output, and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Front and rear wheels receive disc brakes without ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).
Once launched in India, Kawasaki W800 will compete with Triumph Bonneville Street Twin and Ducati Scrambler models. Expect Kawasaki to price its modern classic W800 motorcycle at a price of Rs. 10 lakh ex-showroom.
