Kawasaki Versys 250 Rendered — India Launch On The Cards?
Kawasaki is working on a new 250cc entry-level adventure-tourer motorcycle, the Versys 250. Initially it will be launched in the Indonesian market.
According to reports, last month it was revealed that Kawasaki is working on a 250cc entry-level adventure-tourer motorcycle, the Versys 250. Although more details were not available about the new motorcycle.
Kawasaki has imported two motorcycles with the codename LE25B and LE250C. But the question is. how come this codename indicates that the motorcycle they have imported is a Versys 250 and not any other 250cc motorcycle.
Well, the answer is, an Indonesian website called TMCBlog managed to dig deep enough to find out the codename of Versys 650 motorcycle.
And the codename of the Versys 650 happens to be LE650C. Now that is enough of evidence to hint that Kawasaki is actually working on a 250cc adventure tourer, which is a great news for adventure seekers on a motorcycle.
Kawasaki Versys 250 is an entry-level adventure tourer motorcycle which is set to launch in Indonesia in the coming weeks. It is expected to be launched in India somewhere around mid-2017.
The new 250cc motorcycle shares the design cues from its bigger sibling the Versys 650. The Versys 250 comes with the diamond framework.
The diamond framework results in better stability and the Versys 250 also comes with upside-down front forks and petal discs at the rear.
Under the skin of the Versys 250 will be a 249cc, eight-valve, twin-cylinder engine which produces 32bhp and 21Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox.
The Kawasaki Ninja 250R and the Z250 also sport the same engine which offers a high fuel efficiency. More info about the Versys 250 will be revealed in the near future.
With the Versys 250, Kawasaki will make the entry-level segment of the adventure touring motorcycles very competitive.
Currently Royal Enfield Himalayan and Mahindra Mojo are the only options in the Indian market. But to spice up the soup, KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G310 GS will be launched in the future.
