Cornering Lights To Be Featured On Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R
Patent images have surfaced of what we could see on the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R motorcycle. According to reports, the all-new Ninja ZX-14R will receive cornering lights. This will be the second time that a motorcycle will utilise this advanced lighting technology.
Earlier, KTM introduced cornering lights on the 1290 Super Adventure motorcycle. Surprisingly, Kawasaki's cornering light is more advanced and complicated compared to that from KTM.
From the patent images, we can notice a central light with three small lights on either side. Sensors will judge the lean angle and direction of the motorcycle and will switch lights based on the need. Kawasaki engineers have not confirmed if this technology will make it on the bike or not.
Several four-wheelers have recently started adopting cornering light technology. We have seen a few cornering lights in automobiles and noticed that the lights move in the direction of the steering wheel. The cornering lights are fitted with a mechanism that is big and heavy.
Kawasaki Motors will be challenging its engineers to introduce cornering lights on their Ninja ZX-14R. They will have to reduce the weight considerably of their cornering lights. Ninja ZX-14R superbikes focus is to be as light and aerodynamic as possible and cornering lights could ruin weight distribution.
