Karel Abraham & Aspar Ducati Team Up For MotoGP 2017 Season
Aspar Ducati Team has now confirmed that Karel Abraham will be taking over for 2017 MotoGP season. Karel Abraham will replace Yonny Hernandez at Aspar Ducati Team. It also marks Abraham's return to MotoGP Championship after almost two years.
Currently, Karel Abraham is competing in 2016 WSBK Championship. The Czech-based rider is part of BMW-Milwaukee Team in WSBK. Karel Abraham has tons of MotoGP experience, he has previously ridden the Ducati MotoGP race machine as well during 2011 and 2012 season.
Both Yonny Hernandez and Eugene Laverty have made way for new riders at Aspar Ducati. Eugene Laverty very early on decided to move back to WSBK with Aprilia Milwaukee project. Yonny Hernandez has most likely lost his ride owing to poor points scored and sponsorships.
Karel Abraham will be provided the GP15 race machine by Ducati for 2017 Championship. Teammate Alvaro Bautista will be awarded the GP16 race machine by Ducati owing to his experience. It will be interesting to see, Bautista and Abraham get along at Aspar Ducati.
