Honda Scooter Facility To Be Expanded; Sales Goal 3.3 Million
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India plans on achieving 3.3 million sales. The target needs to be achieved within the financial year and only with scooters. Currently, the Japanese-based manufacturer has a scooter only facility in Gujarat.
The Vithalapur, Gujarat facility by Honda will be expanded to achieve the monumental target. Production capacity will be boosted so that customers can get their scooter as soon as possible. Several Honda scooters are popular products in the country.
Hero MotoCorp. and TVS Motors have also introduced several scooters in the Indian market. All of a sudden the sales for both manufacturers have picked up. Threatening the dominance of Honda and its Activa range of scooters in the country.
Previously, Honda Scooters witnessed a backlog of approximately 35,000 units. They have managed to reduce waiting period considerably, owing to a trial second production line. Overall scooter sales by Honda has witnessed a hike of roughly eleven percent.
The current range of Honda scooters includes the Navi, Activa-i, Dio, Activa 3G, Aviator, and, Activa 125. The scooters are priced attractively, starting from Rs. 41,259 to Rs. 57,931 ex-showroom (Mumbai). We expect several new and exciting scooters to be launched in the near future.
