Honda’s Indian Model NAVI-Gates To Nepal

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters will commence the export of its first 100 percent Honda R&D India model NAVI to Nepal. The crossover scooter was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi and the NAVI received a solid response thereafter.

The Honda NAVI is the fastest to achieve 500 units dispatch in just three weeks of its launch in Nepal. Honda will offer the same engine specifications for the Nepal market which is powered by 109cc single cylinder engine.

Commenting on the exports of the NAVI to Nepal, Yadvinder Singh Guleria- Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, the company witnessed a huge success in the Indian market and they wish to extend the revolution to other parts of the world.

Nepal has been the largest export market for Honda and that is the reason for the company to launch the NAVI. The response at the Nepal Auto Show for the NAVI and the subsequent dispatch of 500 units export in just three weeks has prompted the export of NAVI to Nepal.

In Nepal, Honda is the market leader with 29 percent and exports models including Dio, Aviator, Activa 125, CD Dream, CB Shine, CB Shine SP, CB Unicorn 160, CB Hornet 160R and CBR 250R.

The NAVI has been well received in the Indian market with its funky, sportier and unconventional looks. Young buyers have taken their liking to the NAVI and have been excited about the new design language which was developed wholly by the Honda R&D India team.

The crossover scooter NAVI is powered by the 109cc engine which produces 8bhp and delivers a peak torque of 8.96Nm, the same engine that powers the Activa 3G. The NAVI motor is paired to the Honda CVT gearbox.

The difference of the NAVI from Activa 3G is the wheel dimensions. The front wheel is of 12-inches and 10-inch for the rear wheel, each of the wheels is enabled by the 130mm drum brakes and tubeless tyres.

As the NAVI has similar characteristics as a bike, the front suspension is taken care by upside-down telescopic forks and a hydraulic mono shock for the rear.

The engine powers by a self or kick start with top speed as per Honda is 81km/h.

Honda NAVI is available in vibrant colours like Patriot Red, Hopper Green, Shasta White, Sparky Orange and Black. In India, Honda has priced the NAVI at Rs 39,648 ex-showroom (Delhi).
