Hero Splendor Outpaces Honda Activa To Become Top Selling Two Wheeler
Hero Splendor becomes the best selling two wheeler in October 2016 by overtaking Honda Activa.
Indian two wheeler market registered a growth of 8.72 percent by selling 18,00,672 units in the month of October.
According to the data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), motorcycles overtook scooters in terms of sales volume. 11,44,516 units of motorcycles were sold compared to the 5,68,410 scooters.
Hero Splendor occupied the top spot in best selling two wheeler for the month of October by overtaking Honda Activa. Hero MotoCorp sold 2,54,813 units of Splendor whereas 250,681 units of Activa's were sold.
Hero HF Deluxe was in third with a sales growth of 25 percent in October 2016. Total of 1,33,986 units of motorcycles were sold compared to 1,07,294 units of last year.
For the first time, TVS XL Super occupied the fourth position in the best selling two wheeler list. TVS sold 87,746 units of XL Super to register 34 percent sales growth.
Hero Passion recorded negative figures in terms of sales volume. With 87,489 units sold, it stood in the fifth position. Honda CB Shine was in the sixth position with negative sales growth of eight percent.
Hero MotoCorp's Glamour took the seventh position with 75,320 units sold and recorded 21 percent sales growth. After recording positive sales in September 2016 Bajaj Pulsar again recorded negative growth and was in the eighth position.
TVS Jupiter the second scooter in the top ten two wheeler list stood in ninth position with 63,014 units and recorded 3 percent sales growth.
After a gap of 24 months, Bajaj Platina made it to the best selling two wheeler list. The motorcycle recorded 60 percent sales growth and stood at tenth position.
