Hero MotoCorp and Speedbrain Gmbh will be partnering with an all-new rally team. The duo has decided on calling their venture as the 'Hero MotorSports Team Rally. Debut is expected at the Merzouga Rally in Morocco on May 21-27, 2016.
The new team has acquired the expertise of India's top and by far best off-road rider CS Santosh. He will be paired up with Portugal's Joaquim Rodrigues. Both riders are highly talented and have tremendous knowledge of racing in the dirt.
An upgraded version of Speedbrain's 450 rally bike will be used for future competitions. Hero MotorSports Team Rally will take part in several international rallies. There is a possibility that the Indian manufacturer could field its team in the 2017 Dakar Rally.
Hero MotorSports Team Rally will be lead by Wolfgang Fischer, Managing Director, Speedbrain. Dr. Markus Braunsperger will be supervising the team as the Chief Technology Officer, Hero MotoCorp. The team will work closely with Hero Centre of Innovation and Technology.
Indian-based two-wheeler manufacturer will also use their racing expertise on future street models. Testing and development of future models will be assisted by Hero MotorSports Team Rally's race data. So expect quicker and meaner machines from Hero MotoCorp soon.
