Hero Cycles Launches Lectro EPAC Bicycles
Hero Cycles has launched four four e-cycles equipped with electric pedal assistED technology (EPAC) in India.
Hero Cycles launched four e-cycles equipped with electric pedal assisted technology (EPAC) under its European brand Lectro.
The EPAC bicycles are priced in the range of Rs 43,000 to Rs 83,000. This is the first time that the EPAC series islaunched in India by Hero's European brand. Hero Cycles also plans to expand the EPAC product portfolio in India to over 20 bicycles in the next few months.
Chairman and Managing Director, Pankaj Munjal said, "EPAC is a nascent segment in the India bicycle market. Even as the premium bicycle segment has shown strong growth over the past few years, the EPAC segment has only recently started and has huge potential in the country."
The electric pedal assisted bicycles come with detachable battery pack which can be charged in four hours and has a range of 50kms. An electric motor helps the rider to pedal around on the bicycle.
Hero Cycles plans to initially launch the four bicycles in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and NCR and then in other cities of the states namely Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra by this year end.
