Hector Barbera All Set To Step Into Andrea Iannone’s Shoes For Motegi GP
Andrea Iannone has confirmed that he will not be returning for 2016 Motegi GP. Ducati has now asked Hector Barbera to step up and fill in for Iannone. Barbera will have the opportunity to sample Factory Ducati 2016 race machine around the Japanese circuit.
Hector Barbera has been gifted the opportunity to ride the factory machine owing to his championship standing. Barbera is currently the top satellite rider in MotoGP 2016 Championship. Currently, Barbera is tenth in the Championship and is an asset for Ducati.
Avintia Ducati currently provides Hector Barbera with 2014-spec Ducati Desmosedici. The 2016 Factory Ducati is a completely different machine compared to its previous iterations. Barbera on the 2016 Ducati Desmosedici could be a winning combination.
Ducati promises to provide one of the Pramac riders with the 2017 Desmosedici. Both Scott Redding and Danilo Petrucci are fighting out on track to win the final 2017 factory Ducati. The duo could not get onboard the 2016 machine as it would hamper their battle.
Australian rookie Mike Jones will be debuting in MotoGP at Motegi GP. Jones will replace Barbera for the timing at Avintia Ducati. Mike Jones is the 2015 Australian Superbike Champion and will be eager to test himself in MotoGP.
