2016 Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally - Here's What's In Store
The Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally is all set to take place on July 9 and 10, 2016. The scrutiny will take place on the 9th and the scooter rally will take place on the 10th, at the backwoods of Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
Shamim Khan, the defending champion will try to repeat his winning magic this year again trying to make it five wins. He is quite familiar with the conditions and has done the course a few times with other riders.
This year, competition is stiff and comes in the form of TVS riders like Madhu S and Syed Asif Ali, Team Ceat with 12 riders, and other seasoned riders like Rustom Patel, Avtar Singh, Manjeet Singh Bassan, Kunal Rao (all from Mumbai), Pinkesh Thakkar from Pune, Madhu S from Bangalore and Syed Asif Ali and Muzaffar Ali from Bhopal.
The Gulf Monsoon Rally will also see 17 new riders, including a lady rider, Nidhi Shukla. In total, 53 riders will take part in the rally.
This year's course resembles a marshland, thanks to the steady monsoon rainfall this year. The main event will start on July 10, at 9 in the morning.
