Electric Two-Wheeler Market Gaining Momentum — First Electric Motorcycle To Be Unveiled
The electric two-wheeler market is on the rise with sales of 22,000 units last year that's a clear 40 percent growth. Indian startups like Bengaluru's Ather Energy, Coimbatore-based Ampere or IIT Kharagpur incubated Auro Robotics are bringing India its electric two-wheelers.
One of the most anticipated launches is the Tork Motorcycles' first electric motorcycle which is also India's first electric motorcycle. The company is all set to unveil the motorcycle on September 30, 2016, at the TechSparks 2016 in Bengaluru.
The bike has been named as T6X which offers 100km/h of top speed with a range of 100km on a single charge. The T6X will be different, it has racing inspired development.
The Pune-based company will bring India its first electric motorcycle and will hit the market next year.
Tork Motorcycles will produce 500 T6X pilot bikes and thecustomer will be offered a test drive experience at three Tork experience zones in Pune, Bengaluru, and Delhi.
The company has been working on prototypes for the racing circuit and then when they started to work on a production bike, that's when T6X was born.
The company started work on the T6X in 2015 and in fact they claim that India's first electric motorcycle is a long range powerful motorcycle.
