Is Ducati Working On An 'Affordable Monster'?
Ducati is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers from Italy. The company is now planning to introduce an all-new Monster 800 at the 2017 EICMA in Milan.
The spy shots show that the Monster 800 will be a part of Ducati's 2017 motorcycle line-up. It's rumoured that the Monster 800 might be one of the most affordable street fighters from Ducati.
The Monster 800's design is inspired from the Monster 821. According to reports, the Monster 800 shares its engine from the Ducati Scrambler. This an 803cc air-cooled unit and has 2 valves per cylinder. The cylinders are mounted in an "L" shape and the engine produces a maximum power of 73bhp and a peak torque of 68Nm.
The Monster 800 motorcycle is retaining the headlamp design from the Monster series, along with the fuel tank and seat design. The alloy wheels and brakes will be inspired from the Monster 821. Ducati will provide ABS as standard for the Monster 800.
When launched, the Triumph Speed Triple and the Kawasaki Z800 will be major competitors to the new Ducati 800, and it could make its way to India, since Ducati is officially here.
