Marques Not A Team Player; Dani Pedrosa Speaks Up
Honda riders in MotoGP are currently not performing as expected in the 2016 Championship. Now, Dani Pedrosa lashes out that it is due to Marc Marquez that he and fellow Honda riders are suffering. Marc Marquez is constantly performing well and achieving podium finishes for Honda.
Dani Pedrosa claims that he and other top Honda riders were not included in the updates for the new machine. No inputs from Pedrosa were taken into consideration by Honda engineers and developers. The entire bike, chassis, and engine has been developed for Marc Marquez's riding style.
The decision to develop a bike around the two-time MotoGP Champion, Marc Marquez is now affecting the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). None of the other riders have been able to modify their riding style to suit the characteristics of the new Honda race machine.
The Honda Racing Corporation introduced a redesigned engine with a counter-rotating crankshaft. This introduction was requested by Marc Marquez during the winter testing phase. Pedrosa admits that out of the engine options provided by Honda he would have never chosen the current option.
Cal Crutchlow and Tito Rabat both use factory-spec Honda machinery. Best result by either of the satellite riders has been sixth place by Crutchlow at the Catalan GP. Other than Marquez, all other riders have not been performing well.
