BMW Motorrad Working On 'Heritage Range' Based On The R nineT Model
The BMW R nineT was a special motorcycle for the company and good news just got better as BMW Motorrad plans to make three models under the 'Heritage Range', based on the R nineT.
All three models will be showcased at the upcoming EICMA or the Milan Motorcycle Show that will take place in November this year. Although exact details and specifications were not revealed by Stephan Schaller, the boss of BMW Motorrad, the presence of all three bikes were confirmed.
The first of the Heritage Range will be the base model of the R nineT. The motorcycle models is like a blank piece of paper, for custom builders to showcase their talent. The base variant will also have an attractive price tag.
Now, moving to the second model of the Heritage Range (which is my favourite), which is the R80G/S Dakar. The 1170cc Boxer engine will be tuned for more reliability and versatility. The model could sport long travel suspension, skid plates, spoked wheels, and could even have a slightly modified riding position to make the rider have better control of the bike while riding off the road.
The third and final model from the Heritage Range would be a dressed in half fairing to look like a classic Cafe Racer. More information regarding these motorcycles will be out over time, so stay tuned.
