BMW G310R India Launch Reportedly Delayed To Early 2017
The BMW G310R is an eagerly awaited motorcycle in the Indian market, and just when the launch date seemed to get closer, BMW has decided to delay things even further. The BMW G310R is now scheduled to launch early 2017 in India.
We had previously pinpointed the fact that the launch could be delayed since BMW had not listed india in the motorcycle's micro website.
What BMW has in mind is to offer the G310R to the international markets first and deal with India's huge demand once its production has reached a point of seamless deliveries. BMW feels it is better to launch the motorcycle a little later than open bookings now and make customers wait for a long time. Clever.
The BMW G310R will be built at TVS' facility in Hosur and in Europe, where deliveries are ready to commence any time, the G310R is priced cheaper than the KTM Duke 390. It is expected to be the same here as well, and if it is priced cheaper than the Duke 390, the G310R could be a huge success in India.
Meanwhile, there is a high possibility that TVS could launch the Akula, a fully faired motorcycle based on the BMW G310R platform. The Akula was also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in its concept form.
