Racers Cheat Death As Fuel Tank Explodes After Crash
The FIM CEV Repsol International Championship Moto2 race on Sunday May 29, 2016 in Aragon, Spain, saw one of the craziest accidents ever seen while racing when the fuel tank from a crashed bike bounced and exploded just as other riders were passing by.
Moto2 racer Xavi Cardelus lost control of his bike on the very first lap of the race. The crash saw the fuel tank separate from the rest of his bike amd fly into the path of his fellow racers.
The tank then exploded after another rider collided with it, causing a major fireball that seemed to engulf almost all the riders near it.
Thankfully Cardelus and the rest of the grid survived the incident with not even a single major injury occurring. However, the bikers must have felt like they had passed through the very gates of hell when the fuel tank exploded.
The race was red flagged but the bikers still managed to complete the race without any other incidents.
