Top 10 Selling Two-Wheelers In January 2016

Two-wheelers are the biggest selling mode of transport in India. Commuters take the majority again, and companies like Honda and Hero make a lot of models that deliver great mileage, something which is an important factor to sell large numbers.

Here is a look at top 10 selling two-wheelers in January 2016.

10. TVS Jupiter

At number 10 comes the TVS Jupiter scooter, having sold 42,838 units during January 2016. The Jupiter is TVS' second best selling model in India, and has been making it to the list of Top 10 selling two-wheelers in India for a few months now.

9. Bajaj Pulsar

Coming in at the ninth position is the Bajaj Pulsar, having sold 46,314 units. Bajaj offers the Pulsar in India with different engine displacements and body types, which appeal to a wider group of audience in the country.

8. Hero Maestro

At number eight is another scooter, this time made by Hero MotoCorp, called the Maestro. The Hero Maestro has sold 48,002 units during January 2016. Also, the Maestro is the only good selling scooter from Hero' stables.

7. TVS XL Super

The only two-stroke sold in India, the TVS XL Super takes the seventh spot, having sold 53,849 units. The XL Super moped is the best selling product for TVS in India, and recently, the two-wheeler manufacturer introduced a four-stroke version of the moped.

6. Hero Glamour

At number six, the Glamour by Hero MotoCorp comes in, after seeing growth of 54 percent compared to the same time last year. Hero MotoCorp managed to sell 63,009 units, gaining 4 positions compared to Jan 2015.

5. Honda CB Shine

The Honda CB Shine takes the fifth place, having sold 76,562 units. Last year, during the same period, Honda managed to sell 62,176 units of the CB Shine, which compared is a growth of 23 percent this year.

4. Hero Passion

At the fourth position is another Hero MotoCorp product, the Hero Passion. The Indian two-wheeler maker managed to sell 80,261 units of the Passion, compared to selling 1,02,343 units during January 2015. Sales has declined over the period of one year.

3. Hero HF Deluxe

Hero MotoCorp again takes the third place, with the HF Deluxe, having sold 1,07,272 units. The HF Deluxe has also seen growth compared to last year, having sold 94,376 units during January 2015.

2. Hero Splendor

The best-selling Hero MotoCorp product takes the second place, the Hero Splendor. Hero MotoCorp managed to sell 1,99,345 units of the Splendor in January 2016. The once best selling two-wheeler has been beaten, and now rests in the second place.

1. Honda Activa

The best-selling two-wheeler in India is the Honda Activa. The Scooter has beaten competition in every aspect, may it be performance, mileage, ease of use, or pricing. Honda managed to sell 2,10,123 units of the scooter in January 2016 alone.
