The TVS Jupiter is one of two TVS two-wheelers in this list. TVS sold 537,431 units of the Jupiter scooter from April 2015 to March 2016.

The Jupiter powered by a 109.7cc single cylinder engine that produces 7.9bhp and 8Nm of torque and returns a mileage of 62km/l.

The CT100 is Bajaj's affordable commuter two-wheeler for the people. Bajaj managed to sell 590,067 units of its mass market bike.

Powering the CT100 is powered by a 99.27cc single cylinder engine that produces 9.1bhp and 8.05Nm of torque. The bike returns a claimed mileage of 89km/l (ARAI)

The Bajaj CT100 is priced at Rs. 35,034, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The Bajaj pulsar range stretches all the way from the entry level Pulsar 135 LS to the racy RS 200 with six bikes in between them. All in all the Pulsar range managed a total sales figure of 618,371 bikes sold in the financial year 2015-16.

The Entry level Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS is powered by a 135cc single-cylinder engine that produces 13.3bhp and 11.4Nm of torque. The 135 LS returns a mileage of 64km/l.

The top end 200 RS uses a 199.5cc single-cylinder engine to produce 24.1bhp and 18.6Nm of torque. The mileage figure for the 200 RS is 35km/l.

Prices for the 135 LS start at Rs. 63,269, ex-showroom (Delhi) while the top end Pulsar 200 RS with ABS is priced at Rs. 1,30,945, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The Hero Glamour ends up in seventh place on this list thanks to sales numbers of 618,371 units.

Powering the Glamour is single-cylinder 124.8cc engine that produces 7.8bhp and 10.35Nm of torque. The claimed ARAI mileage figure of 55km/l.

Both carbureted and fuel injected variants of the engine are available. Prices for the carbureted Glamour start at Rs. 55,925, ex-showroom (Delhi) while the fuel injected variant is priced at Rs. 65,600, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The second TVS and the only moped on sale in India, the TVS XL Super is still a big hit in rural India. TVS sold 723,767 units of the moped between April 2015 and March 2016.

The TVS XL is also the only two-stroke two-wheeler on this list. The two stroke, single-cylinder engines displaces 69.9cc and produces just 3.5bhp and 5Nm of torque while returning a mileage of 66km/l.

The Honda CB shine is India's highest selling 125cc commuter bike with total sales of 798,699 units in the financial year 2015-16.

The CB Shine is powered by a 124.7cc, single-cylinder engine producing 10.57bhp and 10.3Nm of torque while returning a mileage of 65km/l.

The Hero Passion is the first Hero on the list. Hero sold 1,139,576 units from the Passion range of bikes in the financial year 2015-16.

The Passion is powered by a 99.7cc, single cylinder engine producing 8.24bhp and 8.05Nm of torque. The Passion gives a mileage of 84km/l.

The HF Deluxe switched places with Passion in this list as it outsold the Passion by just 8,678 units. In all Hero sold 1,148,254 units of the HF Deluxe in the financial year 2015/16.

The HF Deluxe uses the same 99.7cc engine that is used by the Passion. The single-cylinder engine produces 8.24bhp and 8.05Nm of torque. The HF returns a mileage of 83km/l.

Prices for the HF Deluxe start at Rs. 43,100, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The Honda Activa's popularity is shown by the fact that Honda sold 288,123 in the financial year 2015-16 compared to the previous financial year. In all, Honda sold 2,466,350 units of the Activa across the nation.

The base Activa called the Activa-i is powered by a 109.19cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 8bhp and 8.74Nm of torque. The Activa-i returns a mileage of 66km/l. The Activa 3G uses the same engine.

The Activa 125 uses a 124.9cc, single-cylinder engine which produces 8.6bhp and 10.12Nm of torque. The mileage figure for the Activa 125 is 59km/l.
