Top 10 Selling Motorcycles In April 2016 – The Bajaj V15 Makes An Entry

Motorcycles as we know are the most selling form of transport in India. They are small, efficient, and are easy to park, while they return very mileage. Keeping the mileage factor and price, motorcycle makers are selling units in large quantities.

Let's take a look at the top 10 selling motorcycles for the month of April 2016.

Having been launched very recently, the Bajaj V15 has made it to the top 10 selling motorcycles list already. Bajaj managed to sell 24,057 units of the motorcycle, made from the metal from the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier. The V15 looks like a runaway success for Bajaj and the owners of the motorcycle include Aamir Khan, the Bollywood actor who got a custom motorcycle made for himself.

9. Royal Enfield Classic 350

Taking the ninth place is the Royal Enfield Classic 350, having sold 28,567 units. Royal Enfield decided to upgrade the engine to make the motorcycle easier to ride and the result speaks for itself. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is selling like hot cakes in the Indian market.

8. Honda Dream

In the eighth place is the Honda Dream. The commuter motorcycle made by the Japanese motorcycle maker is proving to be a good choice in this segment and Honda managed to sell 32,503 units in April 2015.

7. Bajaj Pulsar

The Bajaj Pulsar when launched way back in 2001 gave Bajaj a brand new identity in the Indian market. 15 years since, there have been many variants and still are. The Pulsar brand has been very successful for Bajaj in India and is also helping them sell good numbers. During April 2016, Bajaj sold 50,419 units.

Taking the sixth spot in our list of top 10 selling motorcycles in India is the Honda CB Shine, that has sold 52,751 ints in April 2016. The Honda CB Shine is a 125cc motorcycle and is probably the best looking as well in the segment. Honda as a brand is doing quite well in the commuter segment.

Up next, in the fifth place is the Bajaj CT. Having replaced the Bajaj Boxer, the CT uses the same powertrain as the Boxer and is focused to be a hard core commuter motorcycle. During April 2016, Bajaj sold 66,409 units of the CT in India.

4. Hero Glamour

In the fourth place is the Hero Glamour, a direct competitor to the Honda Dream. Hero is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and managed to sell 66,756 units in April 2015. Also, compared to April 2015, the Hero Glamour has seen increase in sales of 25 percent.

Coming in at number three is another Hero product, the Passion. The Passion is a commuter motorcycle again, but with a bit of styling touch to it. Hero sold 98,976 units during April 2016, which is actually less compared to April 2015. Hero sold 1,19,491 units a year ago.

The Hero HF Deluxe is the second best selling motorcycle in April 2016. Hero MotoCorp sold 1,16,567 units in April 2016. The Indian two-wheeler maker is looking at growth year after year, since in April 2015, Hero sold 88,635 units of the Deluxe motorcycle.

The Hero Splendor has been the best selling motorcycle in the Indian market for a long time and also the best selling two-wheeler itself. The Splendor occasionally takes the second spot in two-wheeler sales losing to the Activa, but in terms of just motorcycle sales, the Splendor is the best seller. During April 2016, Hero sold 2,23,248 units.
