Bajaj Pulsar CS400 'Cruising Sports' Launch Date Confirmed
The popular brand from Bajaj has got another variant - Pulsar CS400 - touted to be a sports cruiser, has been confirmed for launch in the third quarter of 2016.
Bajaj has been leading in terms of market share in the entry level and the top-end level of two-wheeler industry in India, now, Bajaj wants to consolidate the top-end segment with the launch of the Pulsar CS400.
The Pulsar CS400 is expected to target riders who are interested in touring and also need a cruiser, the bike will be built with relaxed riding stance with less effort to ride the bike. The 'CS' in the Pulsar CS400 stands for Cruising Sports and has a low-slung position.
Bajaj Auto President (Business Development & Assurance) S Ravikumar told Economic Times, "We are planning to launch an upgrade for the Platina (entry-level model) and a totally new Pulsar at the top-end in the next quarter."
About the design of the Pulsar CS400, it will sport upside down front suspension, split seats, and exhaust seems to stick to the concept showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016. Also, the CS400 will come with LED headlamps and taillights, bigger and thicker tyres, digital console and a lot more to address the touring community.
The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 could be powered by the KTM 390 spec 373.2cc single cylinder and liquid cooled engine. The bike will be tuned to the behaviour of a sportbike but with cruising speed as well, giving it a lot more emphasis on torque. Bajaj will use its patented triple-spark technology to fire the engine of the Pulsar CS400.
The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 could be priced in the range of Rs. 2 lakhs ex-showroom.
