2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F With BS4 Engine Launched In India

Bajaj Auto has launched the udated Pulsar 220F in India. The new motorcycle gets a new BS4 compliant engine and other minor upgrades.

Bajaj Auto has launched the 2017 Pulsar 220F in the Indian market. The Pulsar 220F haven't been updated since the move from fuel injected system to carburetor back in 2010.

This new Pulsar 220F is not about the new decals and few sticker job. The new Pulsar 220F gets an upgraded engine which is compliant with the BS4 emission norms.

Although there is no official word from Bajaj about the exact technical changes made to this motorcycle, but as per the sources, the timing chain of the Pulsar 220F have been changed for quieter operation.

The power delivery of the 2017 Pulsar 220F is smoother and linear and with the new engine, it is expected to deliver better mileage compared to the current Pulsar 220.

The new Bajaj Pulsar 220F draws power from the 220cc single-cylinder four-stroke DTS-i engine which produces 21bhp and 19.12Nm of torque.

The gearbox remains to be a five-speed unit. Other minor changes are the instrument cluster gets blue backlighting, softer cushion for the seats, red and black decal, manual choke, red stripes stickering on black alloy and matte-black finish exhaust can.

The new Bajaj Pulsar 220F comes with a price tag of Rs 91,000 (Ex-Showroom Thane) and the on-road price comes to Rs 1.03 lakh approximately. The new motorcycle costs Rs 4,000 more than the current model given the new BS4 engine and other minor updates.
