Bajaj Heats Up The 125cc Bike Segment With Drop In Price Of Pulsar 135LS
Bajaj is heating up the 125cc bike segment and wants to increase market share. The Pulsar 135LS has been reportedly dropped in the range of Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,000.
The Pulsar 135LS which was priced at Rs. 62,000 ex-showroom (Pune) is now at Rs. 57,494 ex-showroom (Maharashtra) according to the company's website.
Currently, the 125cc segment is ruled by Hero Motocorp Glamour and Honda CB Shine and price are in the range of Rs. 55,213 to Rs. 57,312 and Rs. 57,449 to Rs. 62,797 respectively at ex-showroom (Pune).
The Bajaj Pulsar 135LS offers features like front disc brakes, famed DTS-i technology and superior power delivery. As for Pulsar 135LS rivals like the Glamour and CB Shine come only with the drum brakes.
The drop in price by Bajaj on its smallest engine capacity bike clearly shows the intent of grabbing market share in the 125cc segment.
Hero Motocorp's Glamour continues to be the best-selling bike in the segment followed closely by Honda. Bajaj cutting the price of a much superior bike will allow its gamble to pay off. Hero, on the other hand, enjoys brand value and it has been the leader in this segment for some time now and will take a solid perform to out beat them in their own yard.
