Bajaj Dominar (400cc) India Launch Date Confirmed
Bajaj has confirmed the launch date of the upcoming Dominar 400, which will take place on the 15th of December, 2016.
Bajaj's much awaited, and most spoken about motorcycle, the Dominar 400cc naked motorcycle's launch date has been confirmed. The vehicle will make its official debut on December 15, 2016.
The name — Dominar has also been confirmed by Bajaj, and when launched, the Bajaj Dominar will be the most powerful Bajaj ever manufactured. The motorcycle target tourers, like the Mahindra Mojo and the Royal Enfield.
The concept form of the Dominar, named the Bajaj Pulsar CS 400 was showcased two years ago, at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The final version, or the production motorcycle will feature styling cues similar to the concept, apart from using upside down front forks that the concept featured.
Powering the Bajaj Dominar 400 will be a 373.2cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine derived from the KTM family. The engine will be tuned to deliver power for touring purposes, instead of out right performance like the KTM Duke 390.
Power and performance figures are still under wraps, but expect the Dominar 400 to make around 35 to 40 bhp. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and Bajaj will carry forward the patented triple spark technology.
The Dominar has been spied testing on-road multiple times, keeping fans on their feet hinting about the motorcycle's launch. Also, Bajaj rolled out its first Dominar off the production plant on 18 November, 2016.
Bajaj is well known to price its products very competitively in the Indian market, and when the Dominar is launched, expect the motorcycle to bear a price tag of around Rs 1.5 lakh.
