Leading Indian motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto has seen phenomenal success in Indian two wheeler market in recent times. With the introduction of its affordable sports motorcycle Pulsar brand, the firm achieved new heights of success.
To add to its unique products list, this year Bajaj launched the V15 cruiser with a touch of patriotism. And the much awaited 400cc sports cruiser is all geared up for launch.
Although Bajaj has not been an active player in the scooter segment. The Pune-based two wheeler maker has not yet revealed its plans on the scooter market in India.
Scooter market in India has been drastically changed in the past few years. As the segment is expanding more and more manufacturers are launching scooters in India.
Latest reports suggest that Bajaj is speculating to launch the Chetak scooter as a premium product in India to rival the likes of Aprilia SR 150 and Vespa. According to the sources, the new scooter may be launched as early as next year. The new generation Chetak is likely to feature its renowned comfortable ride and lot of storage space.
Its is expected that the new Chetak may be powered by four-stroke single cylinder engine with a capacity of around 125cc to 150cc. To live upto its premium tag it may feature lightweight chassis and modern brakes and suspension.
