Bajaj Auto Working On Royal Enfield Rival For Indian Market
Bajaj Auto plans to introduce several new two-wheelers, thus, increasing its product portfolio. Now there seems to be a high possibility that Bajaj will be the first two-wheeler manufacturer to rival Royal Enfield genuinely.
Previously, Bajaj Auto showcased its CS400 model at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Once the CS400 motorcycle is launched in India, it is sure to be renamed to take on Royal Enfield. The new motorcycle from Bajaj is sure to be cruiser motorcycle with loads of attitude.
Bajaj Auto realises that it cannot use any of its existing platforms as an extension for its new brand. The Avenger is a mass market product and it is highly unlikely that Bajaj would use the Avenger name for its next model.
The cruiser bike segment in India is clearly dominated by Royal Enfield. Bajaj Avenger plays in a different segment and has its own charm among buyers. The CS400 based motorcycle will take on Royal Enfield's' 350 to 500cc motorcycles head on in India as well as in various international markets.
At the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, UM unveiled three new cruiser bikes for India. All three models will take on the likes of Bajaj Avenger and not the Royal Enfield range in the country. Stay tuned for more updates from Bajaj Auto and its upcoming models for the Indian market.
