Ather Unveils Peppy Looking Eco Friendly Smart Electric Scooter
Ather, a hardware startup company unveiled India's first Smart Electric Scooter, S340, today at the web summit, SURGE in Bangalore. The scooter is designed for urban tech lovers, who are curious about futuristic products.
The S340 comes with a touchscreen dashboard with 24/7 connectivity and On-board navigation system. The scooter can travel for 60 km's in just a single charge and can be charged through the 5A normal socket.
The scooter's Lithium-Ion battery pack can be charged up to 80 percent in one hour in a fast charging mode, the scooter can do a maximum speed of 72 kmph.
The company claims that apart from the scooter looking sporty, it is a zero lateral weight offset, a low centre of gravity and intuitive LED lights which responds to ambient light conditions.
The touchscreen dashboard integrates cloud-based data to help personalise the consumer ride experience. Features include user profile based sign-in, on-board navigation, pre-configured drive modes like sport and economy.
Its integration with the S340 mobile app keeps the rider connected with the scooter, to configure rides, and profile preferences and sync navigation routes remotely.
The scooter will be manufactured in Bangalore, Karnataka and will only be an online based sales model and the company is offering doorstep delivery and service.
Ather Energy will start pre-ordering in cities of Bangalore, Chennai and Pune in the next quarter, experience centres will be set up for consumers to test-ride the electric scooter in the next few months.
The company is also aiming to set up ambitious public charging infrastructures in every city it will be operating in, partnering with government and private enterprises.
Tarun Mehta, CEO & Co-Founder said, "The future will be connected and inevitably electric and the Ather S340 has been built as a manifestation of this philosophy. It is an unapologetically electric vehicle, it has been designed and built mostly in-house with engineering precision."
