Aprilia SR Range Of Scooters To Be Expanded In India Soon
Aprilia is all set to launch new scooters in the Indian market by early-2017. The SR150 by Aprilia will be used as a base to spawn a couple of new scooters for the Indian market.
Piaggio Group introduced the very first made in India Aprilia scooter in the form of 'SR 150'. So far, Aprilia SR 150 has been well accepted by the Indian scooter buyers. Now, the Italian-based manufacturer plans on further expanding its scooter range in India.
Prior to the launch of Aprilia SR150 scooter, Stefano Pelle confirmed that more scooters will soon be launched. The SR150 will be used by Aprilia as a base to spawn more scooter models for India. Now, the next Aprilia scooter could be launched by early 2017.
Currently, Aprilia SR150 is powered by a 150cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine produces 11.4bhp, along with 11.5Nm of peak torque output and is mated to a CVT. Aprilia SR150 utilises the same engine that does duty in the Vespa 150 scooter.
So far, there is no confirmation what iteration of Aprilia scooter will be next launched. In our opinion, a faster and performance oriented model will be highly appreciated. The SR150 has the cutting edge look, however, it does feel lethargic initially.
Second Aprilia scooter will be more expensive than the existing SR150 scooter. Expect Aprilia to add more features and further improve the overall styling of the next scooter. Stay tuned for more updates from Aprilia as they are revealed to us.
